Since we graduated Girard College, much has changed. Even the song, "Hail Girard", now contains different words.
When my classmates and I entered Girard College, the school only admitted poor white fatherless boys.
Today, Girard College admits all races, both sexes, and poor motherless or fatherless children that qualify.
Do you want to know what happened? What is the history of Girard College from the time you graduated until the present?
Perhaps you would like to refresh your memory about our founder, Stephen Girard, or learn more about the history of Girard College.
The book, "Stephen Girard, The Man, His College and Estate" is presented free of charge for your own personal (non-commercial)
use with the generous permission of the writer, Thomas J. DiFilippo, from the Class of June, 1944.
Read the book and let him know what you think at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The book is presented in a format so you can read the book on line, or if prefer you can download the book to your computer in
Microsoft Word format. Either way the book is very informative and explains much about how the school has changed
through the years.
